POSITION SUMMARY: Performs locates on existing underground facilities in conjunction with the MS and AL 811 law. Assists with outages and fills in for Serviceman as needed.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must reside or relocate to the Gautier service territory.
  • Applicants must qualify at the Journeyman level.

JOB OVERVIEW:

  • Upon request, locates all SREC electric and fiber lines within the requested work-zone. Locates will be done in accordance with Mississippi and Alabama 811 Laws.
  • Trouble-shoots underground primary and secondary outages as well as assists in the isolation and repair of these lines.
  • Makes connections and disconnections as requested.
  • Utilizes safe work habits and personal protective equipment in all daily duties.
  • Responsible for truck and equipment assigned.
  • Trains employees of lower classification in proper methods and techniques of underground operation and maintenance
