Serviceman - Latimer, Gautier Office

POSITION SUMMARY: Restores power during outages and provides general maintenance and inspections of equipment. Installs and maintains security lights, etc. Maintains public safety and handles member service requests.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

• An employee residing in the specific service area is
• Applicants must qualify at the Journeyman level or higher.
• Must have five to ten years' prior lineman experience.

JOB OVERVIEW:

• Runs service to new accounts and makes connections and disconnections.
• Answers emergency calls to restore power during outages whether overhead and/or underground.
• Installs and maintains security lights.
• Assists Engineers and/or Substation Technicians in obtaining breaker operations, load current, fault current, etc.
• Assists Engineers and/or Substation Technicians in balancing load currents on circuits, taps, etc. .
• Troubleshoots member problems with: voltage, stray voltage (including swimming pools), neutral problems, etc.
• Cuts right of way as needed during emergency situations to restore power. Also, trims limbs away from wires and lights if a contract right of way crew is unavailable or not needed.
• Investigates customer inquiries in reference to electrical service or other problems
