Project Engineer

POSITION SUMMARY: Assists in the design of the Cooperative's electrical infrastructure, and coordinates with line personnel the installation of SRE's utilities.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assists supervisory functions for the Construction Foreman, Serviceman, Underground Supervisor, Substation Technicians and Co-op students.
• Meets with members, developers, government officials and others regarding new service or changes to existing or distribution system, as well as member complaints and residential planning.
• Prepares work orders and staking sheets as needed.
• Assists Supervisor of Engineering Operations with related activities as directed.
• Performs overhead and underground completed work order inspections, meeting RUS percentage requirements.
• Assists Supervisor of Engineering Operations with lighting projects requested by the City or County.
• Assists with the preparation and coordinates the implementation of the Construction Work Plan as directed.
• Secures easements as directed.
• Reviews observation reports and develops plans to resolve any safety issues or conflicts.
• Assists the Pole Line Inspection and Meter Reading Inspection program and ensures the inspection is completed efficiently as well as ensures the planning for maintenance with contractors is securely in place.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

Must have a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering.

Must have a valid driver's license.

Must be willing to work overtime, holidays, and weekends when needed or in emergency situations.

Must have a knowledge of Cooperative's safety rules and regulations.

Must have a knowledge of the Cooperative's Construction Work Plan and substation designs.

Must have a knowledge of the work orders and staking sheets process.

Must have a knowledge of the Pole Line Inspection Program.

Must have a knowledge of CYME and Windmill software.

Must have a knowledge of the National Joint Use Notification System database.

Must have a knowledge of the Outage Management System.

Must have a knowledge of RUS specifications and NESC.
