Human Resources Assistant
POSITION SUMMARY: Assists with day-to-day administrative functions for the Human Resources Department.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
Associates degree required.
Must possess strong attention to detail and proficiency in MS Office.
Must display a basic knowledge of employment-related laws as well as the ability to interpret and research laws to ensure best practices for Singing River Electric.
Must display a knowledge of company policies, procedures, and practices.
Must have knowledge of Singing River Electric's various group benefit programs and administration.
Must be able to plan and organize work and maintain confidentiality of various types of information on a continuing basis.
Must have strong interpersonal and communication skills, coordination, and computer skills to relay and deliver accurate information.
JOB OVERVIEW:
Maintains recordkeeping for employees' digital files in NISC, as well as hard copied personnel and medical files.
Performs new hire orientation, creates, and prints new and existing employee ID badges, runs background checks from ADP Select System, and schedules physical and drug screenings.
Maintains records of job descriptions and changes.
Responsible for employee and departmental filing records.
Responsible for corresponding through and updating SRE's HR online applicant tracking system, Applicant Pool, as needed.
Distributes monthly performance reviews, maintains accurate pay notice information, and maintains accurate data for employee files. Updates NISC with accurate data entry for performance reviews.
Maintains knowledge of all regulations and changes in Federal and State Law that affect Singing River Electric Cooperative's benefit programs, practices, and policies.
Maintains knowledge of SRE's benefits plans as well as a working knowledge of spreadsheets to serve as backup for Benefits Assistant.
Makes recommendations to HR Manager for onboarding and compliance enhancements to ensure continued effectiveness and efficiency.
Maintains applicant flow spreadsheets and data to assist with SRE's Affirmative Action Plan and EEO compliance.
Assists as needed with recruitment by attending job fairs and career days.
Assists as needed with running reports in NISC to assist various departments and yearly compliance audits.
Assists in monitoring public, employee, and miscellaneous bulletin boards to ensure compliance with Federal and state requirements, as well as job postings, as requested.
Travel for training, conferences and other related SRE will be required.
