Apprentice Lineman, Gautier Office

POSITION SUMMARY: Assists crews with all activities such as setting up trucks, loading necessary equipment, etc. Performs pole work which is limited to new construction and completely de-energized poles.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

• Must live in, or be willing to relocate to, the Gautier Service Area.
• Must possess certification from a lineman program.
• Must possess climbing certification.
• Must have valid medical card and Class-A Commercial Driver's License.
• Must have a knowledge of framing and the erecting of single-phase structures.
• Must have a knowledge of making connections of meter loops, transformers, and other equipment on de-energized poles.
• Must have OSHA training and CPR first aid training, certifications preferred.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Maintains and operates assigned vehicles and equipment in a safe manner.
• Sets up truck and equipment at job site.
• Frames and erects common distribution structures under the supervision of Journeyman Lineman and Construction Foreman.
• Makes connections of meter loops, transformers, and other equipment on de-energized poles.
• Strings and ties in conductor on de-energized poles.
• Loads poles, transformers and stocks truck and required equipment for daily work.
• Digs holes and shovels and packs poles as directed.
